ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning.
This is such a 20th century topic that there shouldn't be much interest. Or is that so?
The economy is changing. Many companies are formed with mom and pop and soon became 10 to 15 and 100 to 150 employees. When starting our small, ERP is of little importance, a spreadsheet can usually handle all the business transactions. When you get the 10 to 15 employees, the owners just pass the spreadsheet task to someone else they just hired. Now comes the time that it takes more than 1 person to handle the spreadsheet, and ERP system is needed.
Many times, I've seen business owners understand inventory control, accounts payable, account receivable, but the interconnection between these functions are very fuzzy.
I hope this blog can give some clarification of how the interaction comes together so that the owners are better prepared when their business grows to the certain size, they can make intelligent choices regarding ERP.
